Last weekend, I had the pleasure of giving a recital for my former organ teacher, Allan Beavis, with my friend Thomas Summerfield at St. Jude’s, Bowral. Following the recital (video coming soon), we travelled up to Sydney to spend a few days catching up with organ friends. There is plenty of content coming in the coming weeks (so subscribe to the channels below!). Before we travelled, I asked the famous Graham Twist to send me a theme for us to improvise on. This was “off-the-cuff”, shot in one take and we had trouble getting off the bench…this was really a game of musical chairs! Many thanks for St. Stephen’s Uniting Church, Director of Music, Mark Quarmby and Organ Scholar, Nico Tjoelker, for arranging access to their instrument and brand new console (see organ specification below).
