BUXTEHUDE – Ciacona in E minor, BuxWV 160

It’s unfortunate that much of Buxtehude’s music has been overshadowed by the mighty JS Bach because a lot of his compositions are also masterpieces. I don’t play much Buxtehude but the other major work I play is also similar to this Ciacona—the Passacaglia in D minor. I chose to register this with three different plenums, on each manual, using the Hauptwerk sample set of Billerbeck by Sonus Paradisi.
