James is available for organ recitals, concerts and any other event requiring organ music - he is happy to discuss your individual requirements.

Continue reading below to learn about how organ music is especially suitable at ceremonial events.

Ceremonial organ music can highlight the importance of the occasion by adding a sense of grandeur or moments of solemnity where appropriate. There is truly something unique about experiencing live music played during a special occasion!

As each ceremony is different, it is difficult to provide a general selection of organ music. However, you may browse through the weddings and funerals page to get some idea of popular organ repertoire.

For example, the ACU publish guidelines for music at their graduation ceremonies. Here are some interesting points from the document which favour an organist and organ music at the ceremony:

    • Provision of music to the highest possible standard, subject to the limitations of the graduation venue, its acoustics, sound system and support available
    • The music will be appropriately celebratory, uplifting and appropriate to a ceremonial occasion
    • Organ music is preferred, followed by piano music and then recorded music
    • Music selection must allow for adaption to accommodate the length of time required for the procession/recession

Please contact James for further guidance. He will be happy to consider any special requests provided the music is suitable, possible and agreed upon within the specified timeframe.
