Memorial March – Tim Attride | Hauptwerk Armley

A few days ago, Tim Attride, reached out to me after hearing my rendition of Graham Twist’s “Prelude Melancolique”. He sent me this piece that he wrote for his late brother and that he played it as his funeral and a service in Canterbury Cathedral. Tim describes it as “one long crescendo from the despair of loss to the hope of resurrection”. There are specific registration markings on the score, but I added my own personal touch to this performance in honour of his brother (I hope he doesn’t mind). I felt the need for a stately introduction with continued renewal and hope that death is only a gateway to eternal life.
