Enter a space of quiet reflection with my performance of Vidas Pinkevicius’ (@SecretsofOrganPlaying) Meditation on “Adoro te Devote,” a deeply introspective arrangement that resonates with the contemplative spirit of Holy Week. Drawing inspiration from the ancient hymn “Adoro te Devote,” this piece is a poignant reminder of the profound faith, love, and devotion to the Eucharist that lies at the heart of Christian worship.
“Adoro te Devote” is a Latin hymn dating back to the 13th century, attributed to St. Thomas Aquinas. Composed for the feast of Corpus Christi, the hymn stands alongside other chants such as “Pange Lingua” and “Tantum Ergo” as a testament to St. Thomas Aquinas’ devotion to the Eucharist.
I recorded this on my trial licence of Blackburn Cathedral by Llannerch Organs (@llannerchorgans).
