Every organist should be familiar with the 8 short preludes and fugues by Bach/Krebs(?). If you ask me which one is my favourite, I would have a hard time deciding which oneāeach piece has its own character and beauty. Plus, the performer’s choice of registration can really convey a different message and, of course, the way the piece is interpreted. In this recording, I revisit the F major prelude and fugue on a more “traditional” registration but with a French influence (reeds) on the Hauptwerk sample set of Nancy Cathedral. The enormous acoustic requires modified articulation to allow the individual notes to be heard clearly. I hope I pulled that off!
