THE ORGAN HAS A CIPHER! | Twist — Lament

In 2021, Graham Twist (@grahamtwist) wrote this “Lament” for me. At the time, I asked him for some suggestions on music that would pull on the heart-strings, and he happily obliged. Consequently, Graham was also writing ‘Prélude Mélancolique’ but my request prompted him to think about writing something even more sad and tragic! There’s a lot to contemplate on during Holy Week and the Easter Triduum, so I thought this was a very appropriate piece to play. I recorded this at St. Patrick’s Albury during my practice for upcoming ceremonies. I must admit, this year’s preparations hasn’t been without its challenges, but as a Christian we believe in the Resurrection…so I’m hoping that, by divine intervention, everything has a way of working itself out.
