Toccatina in G minor – Guglielmo Enrico Lardelli (1857-1910)

Guglielmo Enrico Lardelli was a composer and musician who spent most of his career in Australia. Born in Brighton, England in 1857, he arrived in Australia in 1875 and went on to compose hundreds of songs and piano pieces, write music for theatrical productions, and teach music. He lived and worked in various cities across Australia, including Sydney, Perth, Adelaide, and Townsville. Despite his fragile health, Lardelli was a prolific and influential figure in the Australian musical scene until his death in 1910. His “Toccatina” is probably his best known organ work and to me it has quite a French flavour to it. Thank you to Colin Jenkins for sharing this piece with me.
